2017 IPF Classic Worlds...the old coach perspective

It was January 15, 2014 when I got a very short and to the point e-mail from a Jennifer Millican. The name was familiar but, I couldn’t put it together. I am sure I had seen this person at a meet or something as it generally goes that way. To this day, I still can’t recall how I knew of her. Name what everyone believes is the most prestigious national meet. With all the new unification type meets they have evolved over the years since the RUM contest, what would everyone consider to be THE powerlifting national contest? What federation's nationals is the THE nationals.. or is everything so watered down does it even matter?


Thomas Soto Training squat of 575 at 151!

Former THSPA state champ and IPF 2013 sub Jr Bronze Medalist Thomas Soto has really taken himself to whole other level! Here he is at Ironhorse Powerlifting Gym, preparing for his upcoming contest the SPF Texas State/ Battle on the bay with a huge 575 pound attempt in wraps weighing in at only 151! He of course is planning on lifting at 148.. He has a 600+ deadlift to boot!


Caputo Squats 610 In Prep for 4x BW Squat

Next meet is the Lexen in Columbus Ohio on December 3rd for the All Time world record holder! Justin is still training Bulgarian squat twice a day, going on 4 and a half years along with Muay Thai and boxing! That's a ton of work for anyone to muster but he's been able to do it with success! He's planning on a 4xbw squat of 655 at 163 at this upcoming meet
