powerlifting Getting bigger and stronger happens at a fast rate when we first start training, but as time goes by, it significantly slows down. In my first year or two I could get away with eating crap and little sleep or skipping sessions, and still improve in some capacity almost every month. Until well, I didn’t. . It’s hard to pinpoint what the exact problem is when that happens, so I want to share with you some mistakes I’ve noticed in myself and people I’ve coached that prevent them from making progress in the gym. .

Mike Eaton- Pulling 805lbs for a single!

powerlifting bayne_sts Did 2”deficit deadlifts this morning 11/21 at 6am and worked up to a single with 805lbs after singles with 655lbs, 605lbs, and 515lbs. Not a lot of reps, just straight to it. Video #2 Wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving today! Looking forward to spending time with family and relaxing. But first, got my deadlifts in this morning! Worked up to a single with 805lbs for second day in a row. Back was a little tight from deficit deadlifts yesterday but got it done anyway!

powerlifting doctor.deadlift A poopish 903lbs / 410kg. Messed up at the start but then it came up okay. I'm gonna use the excuse that I squatted a few heavy ish sets before this. And that I deadlifted like 3 days ago. But it's all good. Time to wind down and not pull heavy for awhile now.

powerlifting ed_koo Very long time friend of mine, and WSM competitor Nick Best @nickbeststrongman came through with some WR performances at the age of 50 this past weekend with: 1. 848 Squat, the highest Squat over the age of 50. 2. 518 Bench Press. 3. 815 Deadlift. Giving him the All Time Highest Total of any man over 50, a 2,181 Total.

Totaled 1835 meet PR Squated 733(called on depth) 716 Benched 419 PR Deadlifted 700 PR Beyond blessed! powerlifting blanca_villoch Third Attempt deadlift, 496lbs. at 145lbs. bodyweight (28lbs. PR) . . . I needed this pull to lock in my 1200 total, PR my deadlift and PR my total. A lot was riding on it, so as much as i wanted to load 501, i took what i needed and minimized risk. I was surprised how quick i locked it out! . .

Al Laporte's RPS Veterans Day Classic Results

powerlifting Here are my results from the RPS Veterans Classic yesterday. I went 8 for 9 on the day. I set a meet PR in squat at 622 lbs...tied my meet PR for bench at 451 pounds...then pulled 573 lbs for a 1648 total...also a meet PR. I set RPS World Records in the bench and total...and just missed the squat World record by a few pounds. I very happy with my performance over all...but kind of disappointed with my deadlift...I was hoping to pull 600.

powerlifting realmattwenning Could I train speed work heavier??? Yup but it’s not sustainable.. eventually it causes over training. You must use weights you can maintain year round!!!! This is 185 -205 -225 w 100 in band. As you can see there is no bar speed change. But the 225 long term fatigue accumulates and is not useable for longer periods of time. Get yo learn on!!!!!
