2020 World Powerlifting Games, etc. COVID-19 Update

We trust that this announcement finds you and your family and friends safe and doing as well as can be expected under the present worldwide threat of COVID-19.
Since many of you did not have access to your training facility the 2020 World Powerlifting Games and World Bench Face-Off, originally slated for May 2-3, 2020, has been postponed until October 17-18, 2020.
This will allow all athletes the necessary time needed to train and prepare once gyms are reopened. For the athletes that have had access to train, prepare and compete but remain concerned about the risks of COVID-19 and when normal conditions will allow normal meet schedules to begin again.
There's a strong indication that "normal" conditions may take awhile. We've addressed this concern by structuring a series of smaller meets (of between 10-15 lifters) that comply with local health and safety guidelines. We're calling it the Backyard Challenger Series, made up of around 8 separate meets in 8 private locations. So, now athletes that are meet ready, can compete in a safe environment, ensured that the meet will actually take place as scheduled. See you on the platform, Bill Clary
