Yury has been the most dominant 220 since the king himself Ed Coan. When Ed burst upon the scene, he did so with numbers that were so far ahead of his time that even great lifters totaled were left in the dust by over 200 pounds. Yury is doing the same today. Anyone with a 2,100+ at 220 is a great lifter, hell even at 242 for that matter. What Yury has done has set himself in that mythic category that so few lifters have achieved. At the Boss of Bosses VI Yury blasted a 917.1 squat 518 bench and 914.9 deadlift. Since the 914 isn't near his best it is safe to say that we will see a bigger total than we witnessed already... could he be the one to total 2,400 at 220 raw? Could he match the untouchable 2,408 (90's squat suit and wraps only) at 220 that Ed hit ? Although the Wilks was designed using IPF equipped data only and isnt really a fair way to judge Raw performances between lifters female or male, it is what is being used as the standard today until someone creates a better formula. With that said, Yury's dominance as a lifter can not be argued, he is the greatest raw lifter of our time if not of all time.
