bradgillingham- Sad to hear that Terry Todd has passed away. Terry was one of the Great Pioneers of Strength Sports. World Class as an Athlete, Promoter and Historian. God Bless Jan and Family. Rest in Piece my Friend. From phdeadlift- Terry Todd passed away early this morning. I think most people know that I’m finishing up my PhD in strength history, but for those who don’t know much ABOUT strength history: Terry, my advisor’s husband, was a legend of the Iron Game. He won championships in powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting; he trained with the York barbell team; he ran the Arnold Strongman Classic; he wrote for Sports Illustrated; and much, much more. On a personal note, Terry was extraordinarily inspirational in my life. He took an interest in my training WAY before I’d achieved anything anywhere near #noteworthy, and he was always so supportive of everything I did. And he was funny as fuck. I’ll miss him
