bamaburrMeet recap from the @kernusopen: Finished the day with: 518/314/485 for a 1317 total in the 148 weight class. Video #2 bamaburr- Here’s the thing nobody understands, about why I went to the @kernusopen...I went to win and came up short. I pulled 485 for my opening attempt deadlift and for my second attempt to tentatively lock in 10k and second place- all I needed was I believe 535lbs. Either way, it would have been an aggressive jump but I didn’t come here for second place alone. Ten thousand dollars isn’t what I wanted, (i know that sounds aggressive but money can always be made) in order to take back the ATWR total- I needed 10 kilos more loaded on the bar..I needed 546 lb. and I took that. @seanjew and I didn’t miss calculate. We knew what I needed to seal second, but that’s not what I wanted. I needed to do my job, and that was pull 546. @seanjew didn’t make that call, I did. That was for me. He supported me because he knew I could do it and he believes in me beyond belief. For letting me have my moment-and my opportunity, I will be forever grateful to Sean. Because this heartbreaking miss is going to teach me much more than an easy second would have... by a long shot. Looks like I bit off more than I could chew for the day. But I don’t regret my decision one bit. I don’t regret going full send because that’s what I said I was going to do all along. Playing it safe for the money might have been the sure thing- but I would rather take a risk on myself than to play it safe and unsatisfied with less than what I want. We went for it. Pull it off and you’re a hero or miss and people call you crazy. That’s a risk I will always be willing to take. Thank you so much for the dope video from @inmediaworks I told him I wanted something to remind me how bad it hurt to lose- so I make sure I don’t ever feel that way again...he killed it.
