cocoa_soul- DONT CALL IT A COMEBACK • After all the emotions and expectations leading up to this meet, I can truly say that yesterday was everything I wanted it to be. Not in terms of the numbers I was or was not able to hit but more so in my mental approach to every lift • 1) Being able to find a balance in tackling every attempt with both aggression and composure 2) Being able to stay present thru every second of every lift 3) And, most importantly having fun through it all • My performance at Nationals last October threw me for a loop and had me questioning my ability to compete on larger platforms without letting my nerves and other apprehensions get in the way. I’ve been calling this meet my redemption meet in that it was strictly FOR ME to prove myself TO MYSELF and not to anyone else • Over the past 2 years, I’ve learned to listen to my body when it comes to what I can do in the gym vs what I can do on meet day. I’ve hit bigger numbers in the gym for squat and deadlift. Only PR’d on bench, but I am more than happy with the performance I was able to put on yesterday! GROWTH • I cried after my final deadlift. Tears of joy because I was able to accomplish what I had prepared months for...and tears of sadness that I only had a mere 9 minutes on that platform. I wanted MORE! • Thank you to everyone who came out to support me yesterday. My tribe. My personal mentors. My friends. The texts and IG messages and shoutouts. My circle of love and support continues to grow and I cannot be more thankful • And as with anyone who is naturally addicted to this sport...already have my next meet lined up 14 weeks out from NJ States! • SQUAT -160kg/352.7lbs -167.5kg/369.3lbs (missed depth ) -167.5kg/369.3lbs (shown), BENCH -80kg/176.4lbs -85kg/187.4lbs -87.5kg/192.9lbs (shown), DEADLIFT -192.5kg/424.4lbs -197.5kg/435.4lbs (shown) -202.5kg/446.4lbs (missed lift)
