I keep volume and frequency pretty much the same and slightly lower the intensity instead. It’s nothing more than personal preference and experience, some people need to take a few days totally off before competing or maxing out, I’d rather keep it as similar to training as possible by making small adjustments that I know can make a difference in terms of fatigue and readiness.
