First Man to Bench 1,100lbs in Multiply!: Tiny Meeker

Create: 12/15/2013 - 16:55
After recently breaking the Multply All Time record by the minimum requirement, Tiny Meeker came roaring back to obliterate it with an astonishing 1,102lb World Record Bench Press! This makes Tiny the first to bench over the 500kg/ 1100lb barrier. This lift will obviously place him number one on the multiply rankings!!!!

I hate to sound like an internet referee, but Tiny's shirt sleeves are clearly below his elbows which is a rules infraction and would help the lift a little bit. Secondly, I've watched this video 10-12 times and it appears to me that his left arm is never locked out. It's almost an L-shape. When the bar is racked you can see that he has no physical abnormality that would cause him not to be able to straighten the arm because the arm becomes straight after the spotters grab it. Tiny is a great guy and a strong SOB and this lift clearly indicates he has the strength to do 1102, but from the vantage point of the video I'd hate to count this as the all-time record. Just my opinion.

Second, Tiny benches with a tuck and maintains that tuck to lockout to keep tension in the triceps and prevent shoulder issues because of previous injuries he has sustained. Basically, he doesn't flare his elbows to lockout. He is fully locked out and the ROM is a bit shorter since he doesn't flare outward. That is legal by the way, it's just an uncommon way of Pressing. Third, Tiny is also drug free and has always been. I'm sure people will say BULLSHIT! But it's the God's honest truth whether you choose to accept it or not. Tiny has a gift and he is utilizing it in an honest manner. No reason for anyone to hate or potentially hate.

Why do feel need to defend every lift that is questionable? You act like if some one says a lift is bad they are hating. If a lift is bad it's bad regardless of how strong a person is or what reputation they have.

Second, tuck doesn't prevent one elbow from locking while the other does. Third, who gives a shit about drug free

What meet was this done at? Sanctioning body? I just noticed some familiar south Texas faces and didn't know a meet was going on last weekend.

Arms didn't start or end locked and the shirt (or something) is over the elbows. All the above is quite clear and is also no comment on the lifter as a decent human being!

Tiny, darn impressive bench, I've seen your name pressing huge numbers for years and now you are #1, congrats on climbing the ladder to the top.

A lot of weight for sure. good deal However, the sleeve is actually pass the elbow. Not to hate like you said. But if the fed didn't correct it...then is done. Great push... 1morerep!!!

Some questions. I think it's odd that the video was posted on Sunday but we still don't know the name of the meet, what federation sanctioned the meet, when was the meet held, and who were the referees and were they accredited? Forgetting for the moment the non-lockout and the rules infraction for the shirt sleeve extending past the elbow, why is there a blackout on the above information? I'm sure it's not on purpose but you'd think that info would have been posted right at the start of this thread.
