I voted for Gant, because thats the weight class I deadlifted in at that time.( although about 300lbs less!!) LOL... But a little surprised no votes for Hawthorne's 611 @ 125 DANG!!!

Wilks Scores: Hawthorne - 248, Coan - 250, Gant - 264, Kutcher - 256. Gant is the winner.

Exactly the reason why I voted for him. Well that and it was 5.17xbw!
Gant's 5.17% over body weight should tell you the answer to this. All the lifts here were World lifts and surely recognized as some of the best lifts in history. Congrates to all that performed them.
The answer is subjective. "Impressive" to one may not be as impressive to another. For instance, I voted for Kutcher's 793 because he truly put his all into it - a real grinder. His determination impressed me.
I voted for Gant's pull for two reasons.
1: He was a lifetime drug-free lifter.
2: His pull wasn't done with a deadlift bar.
That is impressive.
I voted for Coan with out checking any stats or formulas because so few people have done 900 and at his weight is just awesome. Plus it was just 3 Lbs under the world record of 904 Lbs by Dan Woleber at the time and attempted I think a 920 DL that he couldn't quite lockout. That would be like 1012 & 1031 today.
Jeff Hackett.

Why would it be a different amount today? Are you referring to using a deadlift bar?

I think he's referring to being 3 lbs under the highest ever at the time.

Yes, that was what I was referring too.
I pick Coan, its was done RAW nuff said!
As an old time lifter I can remember what equipment was like when Gant lifted and his was basically raw too!
Most impressive deadlift?? everybody knows who will win....It should the best deadlift in 2011??
It should be Hawthorne's 611@125.....All the other ones are old news...Hawthorne is doing something that nobody is doing these days...only person in the whole wide world that doing that....So hats off to you Hawthorne!
