IPF Worlds Results - Updated

The 35th Annual IPF Men's World Powerlifting Championships in Miami, Florida is underway. You can follow the results at the IPF website.

Russia won the team competition with a perfect 72 points. Poland grabbed the second spot with 51 points. The US slipped a bit on day four to finish third with 49 points. The Ukraine and Sweden round out the top five. Canada finished eighth with 27 points.

Best lifter went to Darimin Bin Sutrisno of Indonesia. He was followed closely by Ivan Freydun of Russia and Jaroslaw Olech of Poland.

The superheavyweight class saw yet another Russian, Vladimir Bondarenko take first. Bondarenko totalled 2,431 pounds. American Randall Harris earned a sixth place finish with a 2,217 pound total.

In the tightly contested 275 pound class Ukrainian Yevgen Yarymbash grabbed first with a World Record 2,404 pound total. Yarymbash also set a World Record in the bench with a 715 pound push. Tony Cardella of the US claimed seventh, totalling 2,112 pounds.

The 242 pound class saw Nikolay Suslov take home the gold with a 2,332 total. The American's were represented with a fourth place finish by Anthony Harris' 2,063 and an eighth place finish by Ryan Goldin with 1,931 pounds.

Ukrainian Ivan Freydun ran away with the 220 pound weight class and in doing so totaled a world record 2,283. The 2,282 total eclipsed the former record held by Ed Coan. American Jason Beck finished second with 2,079 pounds.

The 198 class saw Andrey Tarasenko of Russia total 2,090 for the victory.

Sergey Bogdanov of Russia captured the 181 title with a 1,947 pound total. David Ricks of the US totaled 1,870 to place third.

Viktor Furazhkin of Russia took the 165 pound class with a new IPF World Record total of 1,907 pounds. Wade Hooper earned the runner up spot lifting an 1,841 total.

The 148 pound class was won by Jaroslaw Olech of Poland with a 1,786 pound total.

In the 132 pound class Darimin Bin Sutrisno of Indonesia took home first place and in the process set a new IPF World Record with a total of 1,637. Hennis Washington of the US finished in fourth with a 1,439 total.

Russian Pavlov Konstantin took the 123 pound class with a 1,422 total. American Domarrio Holloway took second place while totalling 1,356.

The 114 class saw Alexey Romanov of Russia cruise to a win with a 1,257 total. Ervin Gainer Sr. of the US, who was second after the bench, missed all three deadlifts and was disqualified.
