Hell yeah ! Great job, Matt ! Any word on Josh ?
Josh squatted 826 but bombed on bench... He said his arms were going numb. I'm sure he'll come back and hit that 2500 soon.

Matt had a great day and congrats to him. Kurt had a good day just didn't end up pulling what he wanted, opened at 749, then missed his 810. Myself, had a horrible day, squated my opener 826, and then ended up bombing in the bench, opened at 749 and my forearms and elbows are so shot and having some issues with them. But congrats to the other lifters, was a great meet and venue ran by Bill Carpenter.

was there, and hold on to your seats... wait till' you see the video, if they even post it. I would not be surprised if no video showed up out of embarrassment.

Sorry to hear that Josh ... I hope this won't discourage you in the future in any way, shape, or form. Congrats, again, to Matt ! Well done and can't wait to see the vids !

huge total by matt which obviously passed to the standards of the UPA. One of the strongest out there today regardless of weight class or federation.

I think people should hold their horses and wait for the videos....And even then..it's done. Nothing can be done to undo what has happened (assuming the videos show Kroc doing things not by the book). You can't change the past so there's no real purpose in everybody getting bent out of shape over something like this....Wait for the vids or do as the Romans do... http://www.gustrength.com/

The video says it all. Deep squats and rock solid benching. Great job Kroc!
The video says it all. Deep squats and rock solid benching. Great job Kroc!
LOL. Are you kidding me? The only thing impressive was his bench press...I am amazed that it even went up after taking so long to touch. Those weren't squats. Those were something completely different. Leg bends, hip thrusts, half squats, etc...call it what it is. What sucks for Matt, is that he's worked hard to get where he is and the judges give him gifts like that. Were they afraid to redlight him?

Contrats to Kroc! I will say this to all the haters on this forum and other forums. Shawn Frankl was at the meet and was the first to congradulate Kroc on taking his record. Frankl needed this just as bad as Kroc did!

Frankl needed this just as bad as Kroc did!
Rob, this rant is not directed entirely at you. I just wanted to make a point about the common use of the word "hater" everytime someone complains about a video. Haters? I hate that word. How does calling people out when lifts are clearly getting worse and worse make someone a hater? The same people that make negative comments on high squats are making positve comments on clean lifts like Bolton's DL for example. If these people were jealous or "haters" because they are not able to perform as well wouldn't they also talk trash on the big lifts that look good as well? A "hater" is just a way to justify why there is always bad feedback on lifts that don't meet the standards of performance. . This word only hurts the sport because it is just a mask to hide the ugly face of powerlifting and what it is becoming. Is this some kind of communist sport where we can't speak out against things we don't agree with? When training at the gym I am sure all powerlifters have made fun of some dorky guy half squatting 135 in the rack. Our records and the standards being set are no different than that half squat in the rack except inflated numbers and egos make us believe it is okay if we are the ones doing the half squats. As someone that loves strength and powerlifting very much it's hard to watch the lifts get worse every month and new records get broken because of it. This sport is turning into a mockery of strength and the great history we should all embrace. Matt K is very strong! I think that is no secret and he seems to be a very hard working and dedicated guy. As a person he has my respect because of his dedication but his lifts and most recent record setters in double ply need to get better or the sport will just keep getting worse.

My words hold no sway here, but I fully agree with the above post. John, we have too many people on here saying "you're a hater/jealous/weak/IPF/whatever" when commenting on lifts that clearly aren't up to scratch. Putting the above post as an actual news item and allowing people to discuss it might be a good idea?? From that vid, Kroc's squat was stupidly high. It just was. I hate saying it cos I have nothing but respect for that guy but if anyone is going to call me a hater for saying that I think it's high then they can go fuck themselves because they HAVE to be fan boys to think squats like that are legit.

I'm starting a new fed where the judges just sit in the crowd and call them from there, no doubt it can be judges accuratley from there.
