Catching 425kg (936lbs) in the crook of your elbows!

Mon, 10/15/2018 - 19:46 -- admin
powerlifting ptcheadquarters When l say we try and have the best of everything at Big Dogs, l genuinely mean it. Check out this missed 425kg squat from Petr Petras. He didnt dump it, it rolled off his back and he cleared off, so Spiros caught it in the crook of his elbows, and the rest of the boys calmly put it back. Check how chilled they are afterwards. Not all heroes wear capes.

Brandon Allen's Big Dogs 3 meet recap

Mon, 10/15/2018 - 19:36 -- admin
powerlifting brandon_allen88 Meet recap. Squat 457.5kg/1008.6lbs, Bench 257.5kg/567.7lbs, Dead 387.5kg/854.3lbs, total 1102.5kg/2430.6lbs. This was by far the most stacked meet ever. Game plan goes out the window when things go wrong. I fucked my second attempt bench on a misgroove, normally I would jump my third no problem but with this competition you need ever kg u can get and I retook it. Changed things for the plan on deads. That 1008 walked out really took it out of me. Deads went as planned til we got to the third.

_miss_lisa Not the ideal meet for me..

Sun, 10/14/2018 - 19:26 -- admin
powerlifting _miss_lisa Not the ideal meet for me , but it served its purpose. After having such terrible meets back to back at 47kg, i decided to move up to 52. My confidence had been really shot on platform so made some choices that i thought suit me best for that day. Finished pulls strong .. 2nd attempt on bench i missed because i misgrooved and shot the bar back too fast so stayed at the same weight. Definitely not a PR for me but glad i came back and got it. On the plus side , added the 90lbs back on to my total that i lost last meet feeling like shit at 47.

Squat University- How to fix knee cave during the squat

Wed, 10/10/2018 - 12:30 -- admin
powerlifting squat_university In this first video Aaron sent me, he’s squatting 435 lbs for 6 reps. As you can see, he shows a good amount of hip shift and knee cave. I told him to work on solidifying a more stable foundation by focusing on his feet. I like to teach athletes to grab the ground by jamming their big toe down and screwing their feet into the floor. He combined this cue with a few hip stability exercises like banded lateral walks, clam shells and hip thrusts and as you can see he was able to make great progress (no longer showing the same hip shift or collapse as before).

Janis Finkelman- pulling 425 for 4 sets of 3

Tue, 10/09/2018 - 09:04 -- admin
powerlifting janisfinkelman Today @jaffestrength tried to kill me but it didn’t work. Did 4 x 4 ssb squats one of those sets is in my story thing along with my tears (KIDDING GUYS IT IS SWEAT) then 4 x 3 at 425 on deads (3rd and 4th set shown) then 4 x 3 trap bar with the higher handles at 405. Trevor, I made it. Keep it coming and I’ll keep doing this naked-ish with thumbs and a heart that are all hardened and cold.
