The meet is being held at the Gym365, not The Press. Jon Krogman is always amazing to watch in terms of his numbers and technique. 72 lifters at last check - this is the biggest meet in our state in many years. I have no doubt there will be a lot of great performances. Good luck to everyone. Joe Warpeha USAPL MN State Chair

It's actually 73 lifters, with 12 of them being bench only lifters. Typically, I would have had a 60 lifter cap, but I don't feel that it's right to turn people away from a state championship. It will be a long day--there is no way to sugarcoat that fact!

Seventy-three lifters will make for a long day, but with only 15 competing in gear there won't be much time spent on equipment check.

It will be a long day no doubt about it. Correct on your point, plus after seeing more meets with more raw lifters, those are going a lot faster. Breaks will be short, one min time will be sharply enforced for sure between lifts. Our staff will have its work cut out for them.

Granted there are 73 lifters, but 12 of them are bench only and they will only be taking 3 attempts instead of 9. So we have 61 full meet lifters who will have a maximum of 549 attempts (61x9) and 12 lifters taking 3 attempts for 36 attempts. This is a total of 585 attempts and at 1 minute per attempt, that's 9.75 hours of lifting. However, some lifters may not attempt all 9 attempts and as indicated, raw meets go much faster. My prediction is that we will still be done by 7:00PM, 7:30PM at the latest. Jim Cahill Jim Cahill

Jon Krogman squatted a sick 793 for an American record! He followed with a 511 bench. During the meet his lower back appeared to get hurt so he took a few token deadlifts in the 400s. He's usually good for at least 700. Awesome performance and I was glad to be able to witness it! The speed on his have to see it to believe it.
