UPA Bench for Cash Highlights

Highlights from Thursday's UPA Bench for Cash in Kennewick, Washington included Adrian Larsen (275) pressing 550 pounds unequipped. Larsen won the heavy weight unequipped division and about $330 in prize money. The lift ranks Larsen, who has to bench with his legs in the air, sixth on the Powerlifting Watch Lifter Rankings. Other notable lifts included a 720 pound press by Bob Norris (275), 720 pound press by Paul Ratsch (shw), at a body weight of 322, and a 740 pound press by Mike Kromer (shw), lifting at 337 pounds. Norris was the winner of the heavyweight division and walked away with a cash prize of about $500. Russ Petty (242) was the winner of the lightweight unequipped division. He pressed 380 pounds at a bodyweight of 238 to earn about $330 in prize money. Other notable unequipped lightweights included Derek Goethe (242) with a press of 280 pounds, DeVon Walker (181) with a press of 285 pounds. Walker is the general manager at Starfit, where the contest was held. The youngest lifter was Rowdy Neuman. He benched 215 pounds unequipped at a body weight of 182. He was 16 years old. It was his first contest.

550 raw and Adrian is a drug-free competitor and with no leg drive. That's some down right phenomenal lifting!

Nice lifting Adrian,Adrian also set the open wabdl world rec in November.Guys a beast and a cool dude..Congrats again Adrian, I bet a bigger raw number in the future is coming.

Adrians lifts were very impressive....Even more so considering he had no leg drive. He lifted both raw and equipped in this meet. Very impressive, and inspirational...Way to go Brother!!! James G
