Johnnie Jackson Defeats Ben White for WSBB

Create: 09/27/2009 - 12:15
Pro Bodybuildiers Johnnie Jackson and Ben White squared off yesterday in an effort to claim the title of 'World's Strongest Bodybuilder' in the Duel in the Desert at the Olympia. White built a 50 pound lead after the bench press, hitting 573 pounds to Jackson's 523 pound press. However, Jackson won the contest going away after pulling 815 pounds. White was able to muster a 633 pound effort. The final push pull totals were 1,338 to 1,206 pounds.

I wasn't kidding...it was more like a rhetorical question. For bodybuilders, these two are strong but obviously not the strongest. Stan beat them both wearing just a singlet and a t-shirt. Hell, he didn't even wear a belt during the deadlift. Stan is not only the strongest bodybuilder but one of the strongest powerlifters today.

OK, so is Ben still talking smack to Stan? Stan can now officially outbench and outdeadlift him, and Stan's lifts were done AFTER squatting 800+ and incurring an injury! Lesson: Don't openly trash talk someone who's so far beyond you 'cause you'll just end up looking like an idiot. Also, Johnnie is really strong, which everyone already knew and was proved by this contest, but, to echo what so many have been saying OVER AND OVER AGAIN, Stan should have been in this contest as he's got both guys beat!

Well, I'm glad that's settled. I always wondered, "Gee, who's the strongest bodybuilder?" and now I know. I'm glad it was down to these two guys after all the elimination rounds. Oh, you mean they just sort of chose these two guys and didn't let anyone else (like, um, Stan Efferding, for instance) compete? Well, no matter, these guys are REAL bodybuilders. Huh? Stan has a pro card? Well, then....er....

LOL! Johnnie Jackson's deadlift is awesome.

They were lifting in a classic standard blast shirt and champion suits. These bb's looked like rocks of solid muscle benching and deadlifting.

Thanks for the clarification. It's nice to get some truth in all the hype. Congrats to both lifters. Johnnie ruled the day.

These guys were impressive lifting in classic gear and making their lifts cleanly! Props to WSBB Johnnie Jackson!

Their Inzer blast shirts they were wearing looked like they were painted on. Very impressive physiques but it was far more impressive that they powerlifted. These two bodybuilders did powerlifting proud by doing a push/pull to prove who was the WSBB. Let's support them.

Good deadlift for Johnnie, but in your face to him and Ben, from Stan. STAN IS THE WSBB for sure. Man do I hate fake competitions.

For being 275 pounds of juiced out muscle (or whatever White weighs) 633 pounds is a completely embarassing pull. I would never open my mouth to shit talk if I had a 633 pound pull and was directing my attention towards Jackson and Efferding. Sure his bench is good but being the strongest is a lot more than bench.

Yeah for sure. There are arounf 4 or 5 guys alone at my gym that weigh 50 pounds less than White and pull 635-700 belt only singles. Having 275 pounds of ripped muscle and pulling 633 is absolutely disgusting. Yeah he went up to 670, that too is brutal. It isnt like Efferding and Jackson are a little ahead when it comes to a movement where full body power is involoved, but they are lightyears ahead. If he is 275 pounds and only pulls 633, he will never in his life catch them. He is all show no go. Efferding is a bad bad man!

It does not change the outcome of the event whatsoever, but Ben White did get up a 670 something deadlift, but got off balance at the top and dropped it. Props to Johnnie Jackson for a huge deadlift!

I saw that...It also had 79% of powerlifters as GAY, and 99% were FAT!

All the more impressive is that they actually got their bench shirts on. LMAO Job well done to both.

I've met Johnnie and like him a lot. And he has proven several time that he is a very good powerlifter as well as a great bodybuilder; but unless he can raw squat somewhere between 872 to 900 lbs. that head to head would not be very close either. Good lifting Johnnie, but in my book, Stan is the WSBB!

Submitted by Michael M. (not verified) on
So....Stan wore less gear than either of these two guys AND STILL lifted more, even AFTER an injury.... Ben/Johnnie, what's this say about who really IS the strongest? No more videos where you do everything BUT squatting, benching, and deadlifting, and no more phone calls where you talk smack....Either you guys should lift against Stan or shut the hell up!

Marcus Williams just pulled 605 raw @148 pounds. Now look at Ben White. 633 @ 275. Yeah he sucks. Pound for pound he is about as strong as my grandparents. Hey White if you read this, save your breath. You are going to need it for your blowup date!

What did they squat? I missed those numbers. Whats that? They sbustituted 12lb concentration "mirror" curls "for reps" for the squat?.... Ahhhh! That is why they were so fatigued for the deadlift. Seriously, shouldn't two middle tier Pro-bodybuilders pretending to powerlift during the "Olympia" weekend be better called the "Special Olympia"? Cause that is how retarded this all sounds!

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
How many Powerlifters can out lift these guys with out all the equipment for real, you guys who put them down sound so stupid. Most people can not put up those numbers Stan yes but not that many of us.

Good that they brought the sports together. Sad that 2 threads on PL.com talking about Jackson VS White and nothing about the USPF D1/D2 meet.

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Forget this goofy bodybuilding stuff. WHEN will the USPF have their results up for the full powerlifting? How did Michael Schwanke and April Delmore do?

Submitted by Doug (not verified) on
This whole thing seems staged. All the hoopla leading up to this contest and then the powers that be just happen to let Stan up here to interupt? Ha, I doubt that. We've been suckered by Stan, Johnnie and Ben. Can anyone say WWE staged drama!

Didnt White say he was going for almost 800 dead? and 606+ bench? He was far of the deadlift, and of the bench as well.

Submitted by d.m. (not verified) on
What the hell is that thing on Ben White's face? Is he trying to be Abraham Lincoln? It's a little early for Halloween, Ben.

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
why are people talking crap about ben. he missed 600 by an inch in a shirt that looks like it gives fuck all support. ben has just came off 2 pro shows. and was still able to muster up a big bench. sure hes not a big deadlifter. but every attempt he did he made look easy. he had his last deadlift easy, he just lost balance. most of the fatass powerifters on this site couldnt put up bens numbers. ben looks like hes good for 680-700 on the pull.

Push/pull of 1155 after one year of PL is incredible! Have these poeple been lifting weights more than a year? Taking drugs more than a year?
