International Powerlifting Federation (IPF)

The International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) is the governing body of international powerlifting. The IPF is comprised of member federations from over 100 countries located on six continents. In the United States, the USAPL sanctions local and regional meets. The IPF is also responsible for coordinating powerlifting's participation in the World Games. The World Games is an international event affiliated with the International Olympic Committee. It consists of official and demonstration sports selected from those not included in the Olympic Games. The World Games are held the year following the Summer Olympics. Drug Testing IPF meets are drug tested. Equipment The IPF allows single ply polyester bench shirts and lifting suits. They don't allow denim, canvas, open back or velcro closure shirts. Briefs are not legal. Knee wraps up to 2 m may be used.
