
Powerlifting is just one of the many competitive sports that the Amateur Athletic Union offers. AAU powerlifting is open to all ages. The AAU primarily organizes powerlifting competitions but also offers bench, deadlift and push/pull meets. Both equipped and raw divisions are featured.
Drug Testing
AAU meets are drug tested.
Equipment
Lifting suits and shirts can be made of single ply material only. No canvas, denim, velcro or open backed shirts or briefs are allowed. Knee wraps up to 2 m are allowed.
No wrist or knee wraps in raw divisions.
Age Divisions
KIDS STRONG: 5 and under, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11
YOUTH: 13
TEENAGE: 14-15, 16-17, 18-19
JUNIORS: 20-23
OPEN: Anyone who qualifies
SUBMASTERS: 35-39
MASTERS: 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, etc.
NOVICE: All ages and weight classes

Membership Fee
An AAU membership is $12 for youth 19 and under and $32 for adults.
