No excuses! Just lift it! Cograts Donnie! I've been looking for him to top 2800 and he busted it wide open! Garry Frank told me a couple of years ago that he thought Donnie would be the one to eventually take the record! Way to go Donnie! I think that would make him the first full-power guy to hit a 900 bench in a full meet. Garry did 926 in bench only.

Congrats, Donnie! 2855 is just amazing, but a 900 FULL MEET bench press is maybe even more amazing! Between Donnie's performance and Vlad's, I think it's safe to say that we're entering a new era of superheavyweight powerlifting. Remember when 2400 was a big deal? Remember when Frank hit 2500 and 2600? Well, that's ancient history now! Whether you like the gear or hate it, you have to give these modern day guys credit for being true and worthy successors to the Kazmeiers of yesterday!

Well, those who predicted Boltons 2806 Total and Millers 1220 squat would fall were right on the money. It'll be interesting to see if these records make it to this time next year.

Donnie is capable of pulling more Would love to see him and Andy go head to head again

Wade, I agree. Throw Vlad into the mix, too. Andy Bolton, Donnie Thompson, and Vlad Alhazov going head-to-head....SOMEBODY put on a meet where these three guys are on the same stage! I figure Vlad or Bolton would take the squat, Andy would take the DL, and Donnie the bench press. Really a toss up as to who would total the most.

I saw Vlad I believe a couple of years ago at the Arnold and thought his squat form was over the top and I thought he got red lighted for a lift he should have gotten. Very strong lifter indeed. Until we find a way to get the money right, it's going to be tough to get all these guys on the same platform.

Big congratulations to Donnie.I've always thought Donnie would be pushing the all-time total up and he is definitely in the running to break 2900 and 3000.

Congratutions. Many people have stated that the judging was very strict at the meet also, making it all the more impressive.

Donny's lifts were far from strict. This is all I will say no need to destroy the thread. Just wait for the videos or ask anyone there and you will see what I mean.

[/quote] LOL it took a little more than 12 hours for one of these anon scum to surface! Score one for the bottom feeders. Donnie has proved he can lift raw or geared. He could touch his ass to hsi ankles and some anonymous git would have a complaint. If he was judged within the meets rules to be legal by three people, then that's good enough for me. Congratualtions Donnie!

I didnt see donnies bench but his squat was good. I was 10 feet away from him. it was perfect

Most of the squats were 2to1 meaning one side seen it break the other didn't front judge should not be looking for squat depth.

was that 1155 donnies heaviest squat attempt? did he go 9 for 9? looks like he might have took a shot at 12 for an even 2900 total? This is 10% Luck, 20% Skill, 15% Concentrated Power of Will... 5% Pleasure, 50% Pain, and 100% Reason to Remember the Name!
