Ernie Frantz Gym

Im a complete nobody, I visited Frantz gym while the team was in Florida at the worlds. Ernie himself let me lift in his gym. Mr. Frantz even squatted with me and gave me some pointers. Being in that basement felt like I was in the Holy Land of Power lifting. I could hardly lift, all I wanted to do was walk around and hold the bars in my hand and stare at the equipment that legends have lifted on. I didnt even feel worthy of lifting there. But Mr. Frantz made me feel so welcome, and when I left he told me I was a friend and I was welcome to come train with his team anytime. The sport of Power lifting is the greatest sport ive ever been involved with. Any power lifter in the world can go to the Arnold, or go to the gym of his/her Power lifting legend and meet them, talk to them, and most likely workout with them. I have not met a Power lifting legend, or big name Power lifter, that was not as nice and friendly as he/she could be.
God Bless this sport and its lifters. Power lifting leaves nobody out. Even a nobody like me has the right to share a squat rack with the God Father. Thank You Mr. Frantz I will never forget meeting you.

The Anvil, Toronto Ontario...Same reasons as above post.

How is Lexen not #1? Everyone knows they are, it's no surprise. I'm not saying BIG isn't amazing, but no one is above Lexen right now.

I have a question:

Why are there no RAW or Single Ply Power lifting Gyms? Do they even exist?

Probably because neither of them are worth talking about. Name a gym that has all raw/single ply lifters that's worth putting up there with names like Westside Barbell, Big Iron, and Lexen? Exactly.

Jackal's Gym

im not familiar with that gym, it must not be too big

www.jackalsgym.com

Check it out. Garage Ink and Alaska Iron Maidens are two other gyms/teams I can think of.

Westside.......#1. And how about the strongest state. Its gotta b ohio with lexen and westside.

Louisiana Tech

USAPL Collegiate Nationals is the most competitive meet in the Nation....classes can be up to 30 lifters deep and the compeitition for the team title is fierce.

The Louisiana Tech Men have won the title 14 of the last 15 years, including 2008.

how is lexen even on there all there big lifters have learned from somewhere else and came therewatch when matt winning leaves u will never here of lexen again

haters! haters! haters ! Ha Ha ! who cares where they came from, they have one bad ass team assembled over there, its a tough and i mean tough throw between them and BIG, and so what if wenning leaves they are a Team ! There is No I in team , thats why its called team Xtreme, always haters people like you make the sport retarded. We will find out what Lexen is made of here before long there numbers speak for themselves.

Of course Matt Wenning is the only pro on Team Xtreme, right? Not like Chuck Fought or Nate Strong got their pro totals while at Lexen. I guess if Wenning leaves, people will forget about Fought, Vogelpohl, Harrington, or any of the other world class lifters training at Lexen. Matt Wenning is all Lexen has going for them.

Right.

Lexen doesn't even a lifter named Matt Winning. So, I guess that means we don't have to worry about losing him.

Fought, Hoff, Harrington, Strong, Vogelpohl, Wenning, and the rest of the gang seem to be doing just fine without this "Matt Winning" guy.

P.S. That Danny Dague is a sexy bitch.

Where is Matt going? You pop up every once in awhile claiming Wenning is leaving, but you forgot to give him the message as he's still lifting large at Lexen.

I would not say "competition for the team title is fierce" or how many titles LA Tech has won. Back at the Collegiate Nationals in 2006 Ashland University finished 3rd place with a total of 3-4 lifters (including the girls). Also, a lot of other teams only bring a few lifters as well.

Also, hasn't LA Tech turned out the most positive drug tests out of all USAPL Collegiate National Teams?

S.O.S bitches, they'll slap the taste out yo' mouth..... ;-)

Happy holidays everyone. All I want for Christmas is KUTCHER at the PRO/AM :-)

Cheers,
Al Caslow

In 2006, Ashland placed third with 4 male lifters.....three of whom placed first in their weight class. If you know of any team competition in the United States that is more competitive, please share.

Also, I can name two Tech positives in the past ten years...can you name a third?

I don't know that there was even a third one before that. I'll call Coach Talton and ask, he will definately know.

The Power Palace in Chatsworth, CA, is very USPF / USAPL 1-ply friendly, and raw lifting is quite popular there as well.

No, it won't be considered for 2008 Top Powerlifting Gym of the Year, but we have some lifters who put up respectable numbers, (and some who don't quite have the numbers but they lift for love the sport!)

Frantz's Gym!

There are a lot of major colleges that don't have powerlifting teams, so that is a joke. Do LA tech powerlifters get scholarships?
