Lynch certainly was under consideration. However, he only competed once and was ranked only 5 pounds ahead of the second ranked 181 bencher.

Where is the name of Paul Bossi?

I told you Paul is Best on the world.

Here they are, but remember that this award should take into account the year's work by the bencher:

Michael Belk 590 @ 308
Ryan Celli 518 @ 198
Joey DeGiovine 585 @ 308
John Dolan 628 @ shw
Ben Graves 615 @ 308

Travis Rogers 605 @ shw

Bossi's best bench press of 2008 ranks him eighth in the 242 class.

Only sanctioned meets were considered when establishing nominees for the awards. Red Brick will be sanctioned by the SSA in 2009.

cool

Wow, too bad Mike Belk had to lift in the 308s when he weighed in around 278lb. Oh well, I guess he'll just have to hit 600@275lb.

I understand completely the reasoning for allowing only sanctioned meets be involved in this but most of us have seen some gimmies in nearly all federations. Travis Rogers did do an easy unsanctioned 625 last Feb. 2008 but it was also judged by a certified WNPF judge and two high experienced powerlifters. He may or may not win this years voting but will have another opportunity in Feb. 2009 to raw bench a sanctioned 625+. For this he has my vote.
Please note that I am not trying to stir up a heated debate.

Dennis I love you man Lets just skip right to 650 this year Thanks for having my back as usual see you in a couple months

Travis, you, the McCaslin's, SSA, Paul Childress and Bobby & Kathy Fields are all helping a great many military families. 650 raw might make the cover of POWERLIFTING USA. Bobby Fields might make it also with what he's told me he's done in practice. Hope I can find enough 100 lb plates here in Niagara Co. for the platform and warm up areas.

awesome
