I vote judging! Good job to IPA for white lighting Donnie Thompson's 'world record' total! Wowee I never knew squats had to be 45 degrees and that you could rest the bar on your knees in a deadlift! Good job guys, its good to know some one is out there trying to screw up powerlifting =D

yea i say judging also cause all year long all you hear about is high squats unlocked deads, touch and go benches and etc i think in 09 judging has to get tighter not extreme but tighter and most consistant.......

Only The Strong Survive!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Alexander Ludwig for being the first person ever to make those Donnie Thompson comments. So insightful and fact filled. Now let me ask you something...were you there to see the lifts in person or did you just see the video? Go move that kind of weight and get white lights then come back and talk. Your negativity and shots at a top pro who just retired are screwing up powerlifting....not the judges.

Pfffffft. Like being there would've revealed something totally different than the video. Get a grip dude. I'm pretty sure some comment on PLWatch isn't "screwing up powerlifting". ROFL

Your attitude is why judging won't get better - there will always be a place to lift for people that think like you.

"Close enough.
Call it good.
Great job.
Let's go drink!"

90% of the posts about DT's last meet felt the judging was an embarassment to the sport.

how about siders squat. in a meet where everyone else has to squat ass to ankles. his is not even ipa legal.

I can agree that the IPA Squats are WAY too high (think of Mike Millers 1220)

So - thats the reason I dont take the totals made at an IPA meet really full - take away a 100lbs on the squat and you may got a WPO/WPC Total.

But thats not a reason calling DT weak or something, he is one of the strongest human beeings walking on the Earth (on one level with Bolton, Kenelly, etc..)

regards

i agree with the judging, one other to vote on and that had a lot of comments was all the B/S Darren went through with the usapl/ipf and his self imposed lifetime suspention from both
