Mendy or Kennelly going
Hornsta???

Winters?

OK, they want the big names to show up, but they give them 5 weeks to find lodgings, airfare, move work schedules around and all the while peak for a meet.

Some people are deeply religious and make plans to be around family for christmas.

poor move on the part of this meet. people like competition. People like money. why hurt the chances to have both and schedule a meet this quickly.

Geesh, some people complain about anything. So they offer $11,000 in prize money and welcome foreign lifters but it's a "poor move" because they did not plan the meet for the convenience of those foreign lifters.

I think the complaint is funny - realistically people would need more than 5 weeks to get visa's, air tickets, and why would someone go there for $3000 USD when it likely costs that to get there?

Foreign lifters are not just Americans, perhaps some European Union lifters will be present?

They are not begging Americans to come, maybe we should take care of our own selvs and if we want a meet we should put it on if they can do it, so can we. No body needs us at there meets we are lucky they even invited forign lifters. GOSH

Is this event named for the Vladimir Mironov that was a powerlifter back in the early 90s? I think he did some mid 800s deads and some low 600 raw benches. What happened to him?

Car accident

Where is the patriotism? What does it matter if we won the Cold War but lost ourselves in the process? In my day, we kept Russia in line by fear of retribution. These days everybody just whines and stomps their feet, but nobody lifts a foot to kick some ass. Here's a better idea: Organize a $20,000 raw squatting contest in the U.S. for May 9 and let the Ruskies know about it a week beforehand. In the meantime, someone learn how to read that God-forsaken cyrillic chicken scratch and translate all their internet whining for our reading enjoyment.

I'll throw $5 in the pot to get this thing rolling.

I've been selected as the money holder for this event. Please mail me the $5, so I can add it to the growing pile.

Your local library will have books to help you learn cyrillic.

I will not mail you the money because you failed to recognize that the quote "everybody just whines and stomps their feet, but nobody lifts a foot to kick some ass" was a masterful piece of writing worthy of a Pulitzer prize for poetry.

Actually, the prose recently put forth by, "Carolina Boy" is my favorite. But keep up the good effort kiddo!

Now I understand why nobody likes you. ;)

Is it sad, Jim, that we are the only two people who like reading our own writing enough to continue commenting on a topic long after everyone else has gotten bored and moved on?
