BPC UK Open Highlights

The BPC UK Open held on October 4 in Ruislip, Middlesex, England featured a number of record setting performances from Great Britain's top multi ply lifters. Delroy McQueen, 242, pulled 843 pounds to set a BPC British and WPC European deadlift record. The deadlift is also the world's eleventh highest at 242 in history. Here's video of the pull:

Jim Nuttal, 308, totalled 2,369 pounds to surpass Andy Bolton's British record of 2,364 pounds, which was set in 2000. It also gives Nuttal the second biggest total in British powerlifting history.

Hirep Gym has posted four highlight videos from the event where the more of the action can be seen.

McQueen missed the 843 but did get 815(?). After reading Mike Sweeney's so called report of this meet in PLUSA, I thought there were only 2 lifters (Bolton and Thompson) competing in this meet! It's nice to see some others getting recognition. Sweeney's account of "extremely bad meet behaviour" from Donnie Thompson in PLUSA is not accurate either and I'm really not sure why he would write such a thing (based on assumption rather than facts...)

You have the wrong meet James. That was the BPC British.

Yes I do (Thanks) - I need to check my facts as well! Comments regarding BPC British write up still stand though. 843 pull is great - congratulations to Del.

Great pull Del, Del was also an olympic lifting champion. Nothing more entertaining than watching a great deadlift.
