He is a straight up MAN!!!

So much control, he doesn't slam the weight on the ground when he goes down like some of us do.

Much more impressive than Bolton at the Arnold

I cannot wait to see his next meet.....

That guy is incredible! Every type of pull he does, he moves monster weights, and at a relatively light bodyweight, too.

Yeah, Bolton weighs around 340, while Konstantin usually trains around 265. Imagine what kind of weight he could move if he made that transition.

Also, this guy is retardedly strong, but he rarely competes. What gives?

I don't know that the increased bodyweight would help him at all! Increased girth around the midsection often makes it harder for guys to get down to the bar, and his rounded back style would probably suffer from having to content with a big gut being compressed as he bent over. Still, like you, I wonder why he doesn't compete more.

he's actually rather poor

Poor? how about if he sells a training manual?

The added bodyweight would have to help. I dont know any lightweight lifters pulling in the 900s.

anyone have contact info? a website? anything on this guy?

how come he wears his belt real high, does that help some how?

He competes again in december i think, hes going to do a raw benchpress meet. Dont let his deadlift fool you, he is strong in every lift. Deadlift is just his favorite because he feels it is the true test of strength.

Maybe if the weight didnt slide off bolton couldve gone for more. This would be pretty hard to beat though.

Yeah, I hadn't thought of that. Someone like Inzer or Metal should sponsor him.

I am sure a few suits and stuff would feed his family

have any of you done d.lift this way ,its much easier than dead stops so how does it compare

gilbert . a great deadlifter no doubt he looks lean from the waist down too. he should good morning a very great weight too

You guys should learn how to spell his name correctly.
I think the 3rd best deadlifter of all time deserves it :)

It's Konstantin Konstantinovs, without e.

Added body weight will help the squat and bench but not always the deadlift. Infact putting on a massive gut will not help the deadlift. It will only hinder it.

As for smaller lifters deadlifting big.......How's Ed Coan's 902 at 220 and his 859 at 198. Or better yet how about Vince Anello's 821 at 198. No body fat on any of those boys.

In 1980 in my basemwnt gym John KUC, without a belt, weighing 240 did 835x3. Up until I saw this video of Konstantin's it was the most impressive(considering bwt & weight lifted)I had ever seen

isn't he 6'4? if that is true then no doubt would added bodyweight help him!

Andrew, as somebody who is a sponsored athlete, I would expect you to know better than anybody that adding bodyweight doesn't automatically make you 8 months pregnant, or look like you're hiding a mini-keg under your shirt. With a guy like Konstantinovs, who weighs 270 yet still has a 6 pack, an extra 30-40 lbs. would do nothing but good. Ed Coan's 902 definitely is an exception, an unreal exception that will probably never be equaled for another 20 years. Also, konstantinovs is about 6'3", whereas Eddie is 5'6" on a good day, the added weight would distribute just fine.

And Anello was 5'7". So yes, on a shorter guy, 30-40 lbs. have nowhere to go. On a big tall guys, like big K, it would be a great help.

this is from an interview with ED COAN.

Q: What king of genetic profile makes for a good powerlifter?

Coan: Big hips, big ass, and between medium to long arms. Most tend to be shorter guys. If you're six foot or over, you'd have to compensate by weighing 350 pounds to balance out your leverages.

He might have been exaggerating, but his general idea is spot on.

Well we would all agree that benching for reps is much easier than a dead stop bottom position bench press but that doesn't change the fact that it can and does help make you stronger and more conditioned. So why is this lift of his any "less" of a lift because of it. Unless you're Andy Bolton or Benedict Magnussen then I don't believe that you out deadlift this man anyways.

True.

I couldn't agree more.

Yet, another member of the "Badass motherfucker" club.

And THAT is one of the main reasons I had to gain weight, all the way up to 390. I'm six foot three, just a shade under six four.
