WUAP Worlds Results

Results (powerlifting and bench press (pdf)) are posted for the WUAP Powerlifting and Bench Press World Championships which were held October 1-4 in Lauchhammer, Germany.

The United States had two open class lifters who competed. Ronald Dowdell finished third at 165 with a 1,168 pound total. He squatted 424 pounds, benched 319, and deadlifted 424 pounds.

Stephen Parkhust, 242, placed fourth with a 1,840 pound total. Parkhust hit a 716 pound squat, 462 bench press, and 661 pound deadlift.

Russian Igor Umerenkov, 198, was named best lifter with a 1,923 pound total. Dan Dvorák, 275, from the Czech Republic, was runner-up, totalling 2,154 pounds. Ukranian Serhiy Oleolenko, 308, totalled 2,221 pounds to place third in the best lifter standings.

Russian Julia Umerenkova, 148, was named best female lifter. Umerenkova totalled 1,004 pounds, squatting 402 pounds, benching 203, and deadlifting 397 pounds.

Hungarian László Mészáros, 308, was named best bencher for his 749 pound press (video). Fellow countryman Zoltán Csepregi, 242, was runner-up, pressing 683 pound press. Rounding out the top three was another Hungarian, István Juhász, 181, who benched 562 pounds.

Russian Svetlana Sinacheva, 165, was the best female bencher with her 264 pound press.
