RPF Explains Worlds Roster Changes

The RPF has issued an explanation as to why Andrey Belyaev, Julia Zaugolova, Andrey Malanichev, Eremin Gennadiy, and Oxana Belova were removed from the team roster for the IPF Powerlifting World Championships which will take place November 2-8 in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada.

The federation submitted an initial roster which included the aforementioned lifters on August 28, following the Russian Cup. However, IPF President Detlev Albrings responded that drug testing results and/or whereabouts system inclusion were still required for a number of national team members who were on suspension or had come off of it.

Due to the fact that the entire Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory was in China for the Paralympic games, they were unable to send the required test results to the IPF by the necessary deadline.

As a result, to meet the required nomination deadline of 60 days prior to the Championships, a new roster was submitted to the IPF on September 1, without the lifters in question.

Lifters removed from the first roster face potential suspensions due to failed tests or whereabouts reporting issues.

Correspondence on the issue continues. Additionally, the RPF is awaiting information from the WADA to take action against lifters.

Julia Zaugolova has now been added to the IPF suspended list for failing an OCT.

Surely the IPF must now act and suspend the Rusians indefinitely until the Russian Federation has sorted out it's lifters
