Laszlo Meszaros Benches 749 at WUAP Worlds

Hungarian Laszlo Meszaros, 308, bench presses 749 pounds yesterday at the WUAP Powerlifting and Bench Press World Championships which took place October 1-4 in Lauchhammer, Germany. The lift gave Meszaros the gold in the 275 pound weight class. Meszaros missed a final attempt at 771 pounds. The following video contains his 749 and 771 pound attempts:

Most of us will agree that the IPF Worlds is the pinnacle of powerlifting.It should not surprise anyone that people will try to win the IPF Worlds by any means neccessary....Hope more lifters that are 'chemically enhanced'will see that there is just as much value competing in the WPC etc:)B4 they get busted in IPF.

WUAP offers tested and non tested divisions correct?One would assume that they do.

I have lifted against this guy before and there are 2 things about him that are unmistakeable. Very, VERY strong. Like 620-640 raw strong!! And flawless form. Unfortunately he did it wrong to compete in the IPF, he probably doesn't need too. Scott Lade

I know him personally. He is not related to Tibor Meszaros (the SHW deadlift record holder at IPF). Meszaros is a common name in Hungary.

Though he is suspended from IFP he biggest pride still is his IPF world titles.
