Big Iron Open Results

Results have been published for Saturday's Big Iron Open held at BIG in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to the performances of Jim Grandick, Shawn Frankl, and Jason Coker a number of other top performances were turned in at the event.

Al Caslow, 181, totalled 2,072 pounds, squatting 826, benching 545, and deadlifting 700 pounds. That gives Caslow the seventh highest total of all-time. Here's video of his deadlifts:

Richie Briggs, 275, bench pressed 865 pounds. That moves him into second on the all-time rankings behind Rob Luyando and his big 948 pound press. Briggs trails only Luyando at 242 as well.

he's strong

Al great pulling!! Were you wearing a different belt. It was hard to tell from the video but it looked like a belt you would wear while benching just a little thicker. Just curious. You continue to set the bar higher, great job!

Congrats to all the lifters, especially; al caslow, shawn frankl, jim grandick, richie briggs, and jason coker.

not to take anything away from all the other big lifts, but this was my favorite lift of the whole meet. Im glad you got it al!

Great job Richie! 865 is awesome!

Congratulations Al.....

Richie, you're a beast.

Putt Houston.... now with more Bom Chicka Wahwahhhhhh

That's pretty narrow for sumo, but it obviously works great for him. The scary part is Al hasn't even been powerlifting for that long.

I thought some of the new Big Iron lifters were impressive. Especially Mick Manley and Krystal Cary.

Ervin, it is exactly like my bench belt but wider and thicker. It is made from the same material in black though.

Great job everyone! Still, I can't believe Mick and Krystal are getting a plug here. I better lift more next time.
