Eleiko USA Joins Powerlifting Watch

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the newest sponsor of Powerlifting Watch, Eleiko USA. Eleiko's high-quality bars, plates, and collars are now available in the U.S. through the Titan Dealer Network.

First introduced in 1963, the legendary Eleiko bar was the first to be used during an entire competition without bending or cracking. A remarkable feat at the time! Forged of special Swedish steel, hardened and toughened to resist the heaviest of loads, each handcrafted bar is ram jack tested under the most torturous conditions. How torturous? They bend the sleeves of every single bar with 2000 kg of hydraulic pressure. If the sleeves don’t bounce back to .5 mm true straightness, they melt it down and start again. The bar itself must survive the 1500 kg ram jack test before it is signed and certified by the craftsman who created it.

But let’s not forget the plates. Back in the day they were so inconsistent that big competitions required the referees to weigh the plates for record attempts before the event even started. Fortunately, Eleiko’s machine calibrated plates made this a footnote in history. Eleiko plates are machined, calibrated and painted from a single, solid piece of iron. There are no brass weight inserts that can fall out. Eleiko craftsmanship is so impressive, that these plates are practically a functional piece of art. You’ll always know your lifts are true with Eleiko.

Best powerlifting bars and plates ive ever used!

I'd like to switch to Eleiko. I've been using my Ivanko kilo set for 8 years now.

Does the price include shipping?

Eleiko is a great company with great products, but you really must have money to burn to spend over $4,000 on a competition set. That comes out to well over $3.00 per pound. And that probably does not include shipping. Meet directing will have to become much more lucrative before I consider purchasing an Eleiko set lol!

Maybe I can just get my Ivanko plates repainted with a good powder coating after stripping off the old paint. I wonder if that's possible.

Steve,
It should be fairly easy to find shop to sand blast and coat the plates. Its a fairly common alternative for finishing/refinishing frames and wheels in automotive applications.

You'd need to re-weigh them after that though, right?

..MORE LIKE $4 A POUND.... they are high as a kite if they think their weights are worth that much money. I piss away money better than anyone, and I wouldn't pay that amount for calibrated weights. I would LOVE to have a set, but you just shouldn't have to win the Powerball to do it.

Let's keep it real....

Putt Houston.... now with more Bom Chicka Wahwahhhhhh
