Where does a lifter go after the UPA Nationals?
Do they have a World Championship?
Are they affiliated with any world body?

kind of ironic you ask that, I was curious about the same thing!

Best Gear in the World!

Maybe they should affiliate with the GPC since the APC left?

Why not the WPC?

The best APF and UPA national winners up against one another? At the same time we have international competition coming together? Let's grow the sport in competition, this way we don't have a million little boys and girls running around claiming world championships multiple times per year.

With enough competitors, the winners can perhaps also be rewarded for their representation as well.

We don't have a world affiliation yet. We welcome lifters from other countries to compete in our meets. Our main focus is the American lifters first then the other countries. The UPA is growing and there will be a World meet down the road.

The UPA runs first class meets!

The best run 2 ply meet I have been to. They said the break would be 30 minutes and it was that. Not 30 then 45 then 60. It was very effecient and the facility was great as well.

UPA is taking over, it will only be a matter of time til they are World Affiliated. Kenny and Bill got there shit together and this is only gonna get bigger and better. Every UPA meet they have ran has been dead on, ran very efficiently and properly.

Wolfy!!!!

The biggest news from UPA nationals was this.

Dan Varela of Diablo Barbell got his first elite total at 59 years old!!!

Dan competes at 275 and he ended the day with a 2000 pound total.

THE UPA AND THE GPC TOGETHER WOULD BE HUGE THE GPC ARE VERY STRONG IN EUROPE AND WITH THE UPA GROWING IN THE USA IT WOULD BE A FEDERATION TO RIVAL ANY.

I would like to congratulate Dan Varela of Diablo Barbell for achieving his ELITE TOTAL at 59 years old!
This is a huge achievement and you are certainly a source of motivation for many lifters, including myself.

Stay Strong
God Bless You....
John

I will second that motion on Dan Varela; if he can hit elite at 59, then there is still hope for us younger master lifters..

Congrats on the 424 Rudy, I see you sortof took my advice on opening up a little heavier

Dan is actually 242 weight class. I heard he's the 3rd person ever 55+ to total 2000+. He's a super nice guy too.
