Richie Briggs Goes Over 800 Pounds Again

Richie Briggs, 275, benched 826 pounds on Saturday at the APF BIG In-House Open in Omaha, Nebraska. He also hit his opener at 802 pounds but missed a third attempt at 852. Briggs usually lifts as a 242 but moved up a weight class for this meet. His best at 242 is 848 pounds.

rumor has it that richie was throwing up between each of his attempts. sounds like a pretty heroic effort to me.

richie had been sick for 10 days. lost weight and physically looked like shit. he was in the bathroom throwing up at the meet and during attempts and warmups runnung outside to puke. His training numbers were way up there when he was healthy. his lifts still looked great

I was sitting right next to the door on more than one occassion when Richie ran outside to hurl, so it's definitely true. The guy is a warrior to put up a huge bench while being sick like that.
