Becca is a great lifter yes.. But she did the same weight last year. not much of a improvement for 2007. Go JESSICA!!!!!!!!!!

she the best ever/becca

Jenny Thompson is probably the best pd/pd. She is great shirted and raw and has proven several times, and can compete with others in a heavier division.

I don't know why my post was deleted.. But is a true fact. Thompson has had the same bench press for 3 -4 years. Is this not true? 315? Where is the improvement for 2007?

THE 2007 BEST BENCHER AWARD DOESN'T MEAN IT GOES TO THE BIGGEST BENCHER, OR POUND OVER POUND. IT SHOULD BE VOTED ON THE BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENTS FOR 2007, AND THE MOST BENCH IMPROVEMENTS.

IF YOU TOOK THE BIGGEST BENCHER IN THE WORLD WHO IS BECCA NO ONE WOULD EVER STAND A CHANCE OF WINNING. IT SHOULD BE BASED ON ACHEIVEMENTS, BENCH INCREASEMENTS THINGS LIKE THAT. SAME AS THE MENS. LOOK HOW LONG THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN COMPETEING FOR VS NEW COMPETETORS. 17 YEARS + LIFTING VS PEOPLE THAT ARE LIFTING 5-3 YEARS..

SOME BENCHERS UP ON TOP HAVE HAD NO IMPROVEMENTS.THE SAME BENCHES AND ARE BENCHING IN LOWER WEIGHT CLASSES WITH LOWER NUMBERS?

DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE LIFTERS..SOME BENCHERS HAVEN'T INCREASED A BENCH IN YEARS. SAME WEIGHT OR LOWER WEIGHT..

I KNOW MILLER IS BENCHING 500+ AT QUADS

In my opinion, a lifters improvement has no place whatsoever in this vote. That's for other categories which I currently don't have, but may in the future. This is about what they did in 2007.

Even though Becca benched the same weight, didn't she do that same weight in a lower weight class?

Becca benched less this year (518 pounds) while in the same weight class. Her 552 was at an unsanctioned meet. However, her best was still far and away the highest bench press of the year (by almost 70 pounds).

what about laura phelps 465 at 181 huge improvement short period of time second highest bench over all and higher than lisa miller at a lower body weight

IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN SHES IN THE POWERLIFTING VOTE LAURA PHELPS.

ANOTHER BODY BUILDER THAT TURNED POWER LIFTER

out of all the lifters posted who had the better year?

My vote is for Lisa Miller...A TESTED lifter, with a 75lb. increase this year...for a sanctioned lift of 452.

ALL THESE WOMEN UP HERE ARE GEAT LIFTERS AND ARE SPECIAL IN THERE OWN WAY! YOU HAVE ALL FEDS UP THERE BASICALY APF-UPA-USAPL-WABDL-IPA! THEY ALL RUN THERE FED!

GREAT TESTED LIFTERS!
GREAT NON-TESTED LIFTERS!

I would have voted before but my computer has been down the last 4 days. People may say it is bias. My vote would go to Janet Faraone she set 2 world records in 2 weeks.

Rudy Hillyard

2 world record's in 3 weeks (my mistake from previous post).

Like Jon said this vote is not about improvement. Lisa's 452 is not even double body weight. Tested in todays world of sports means nothing. Whoopy!

Did she even complete a lift this year? I thought she bombed at Seniors and the Arnold?

Rudy Hillyard

It was two weeks; 12/1 - Canada & 12/15 - Lake George, NY

laura phelps did a 770 squat just missing 805 at a bw of 169.And posted the highest pound for pound total this year i would say yeah she completed some lifts.

Reguardless of what anyone says Lisa Miller has the biggest bench press in the world drug tested. Yeah that is something! Achieved in 2007

Why is it you post a poll on here and u get nothing but anonymous people talking crap! These people are just jealous and cowards!

These women on here are all great agreed and there are a lot of other women that deserved to be on here as well. Anonymous cowards put these women down and we did nothing wrong but bust are asses and move up the ladder..

Its kind of hard to judge who should be Best Lifter for 2007. We all did different things, wore different shirts and competed in different feds with different rules! We all have different training. Some more then others. Is this what this sport has come to? Who is better? I was hoping we lifted because we loved to lift but now a days u have to worry about people down talking u and they know nothing about u. What they have is all hear say! We are all the best in the world and as long as we know what we did where and when. Who cares what u assume! We are all champions and thats that!!!!

So u can take your haten @sses some where someone cares!!!

Was that at a IPA backyard meet in Ohio? She bombed at all of the big shows that count.

Laura phelps done nothing call the best squat by formula the best total by pound for pound nothing wonder what you have acomplished besides running your mouth

4 time World champion in benchpress and she hold 3 world record in benchpress in IPF

No excuses! Just lift it!

I got to go with Kara Bohigian. Coming off of a unbelievable 06 were she broke the All-time record in each of 3 meets in a 4 week span and raised it on 3 of her 4 attempts at the APF Alabama ending with 451 weighing 154; she goes into 07 after planning a wedding, getting married, moving from Georgia to Ohio and still drives to Alabama and brakes the 148 All-Time Bench Record of 413, lifting in the full meet after an Am. record (in Briefs, belt and wraps only) squat! She is awesome in every way! Great person and great lifter!

I agree with Jon. Best bencher doesn't mean you had to increase your bench each year. Once you approach your peak, increases come at a very small amounts and sometime at long waits. It doesn't mean you aren't any greater bencher than the year before. If he/she was the best last year and haven't increased a bit, but they are still benching more than the others in their class; they are still the best. Maybe there should be a most improved category, but that's not the same as 'best'.
