where the heck are the russians? the 198lb'er who squated 400kgs!!?

Wasn't Frankl's bench part of that total? That should be one voting option so he's not splitting his own votes.

Powerlifting Watch is aimed at an English speaking audience. I just can't follow powerlifting at the national level and below in non-English speaking countries. As such, it's possible I would acknowledge certain lifts which were actually surpassed at those non-international events.

It was. What do others think of Marcus' suggestion?

yeh you left out Belaev's 400kgs squat @ 90kgs bodyweight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biLJKQnhYGE

How are people not voting for Siders? The strongest man in the world and you guys really believe that a 2600 total in the USAPL is not the greatest powerlifting moment of 2007. Please get real.

We should add to the list:

"Andy Bolton becomes the first man to deadlift over a grand"

That was last year.

I would have to vote for that. or rock lewis benching 600 RAW AND DRUG FREE.

i vote andrew hollenbecks ipf world record deadlift 628@ 165 18 years old moment of the year

^ deadlift of the year

i was kinda torn on this one. Eddies last meet was a huge milestone, i mean the guy has been winning meets since before i was born!!

rocks bench was great, wilkersons squat was insane, siders sick total, lots of big time accomplishments there--but i had to give my vote to Shawn Franks 2400lb total, the heaviest 12X bodyweight total ever.

And no, his 4X bdywgt bench was a couple weeks after the 2400 total, he benched 766 for that, then hit his 788 a few weeks later. Shawn also total what, 2450ish at the Rick Hussey meet--i forget the right number.

This is 10% Luck, 20% Skill, 15% Concentrated Power of Will... 5% Pleasure, 50% Pain, and 100% Reason to Remember the Name!

Bert, I think both are utmost impressive. You got a 198'er doing 12x bodyweight. Sure 2600lbs in any fed (not just the USAPL, while rolling my eyes) is awesome. Either way both men deserve mad amonts of credit. Cheers to both lifters.

Merry Christmas to all...

I think it was 2469

Other than Andy Bolton's deadlift I really dont care about these new jacked up equipment numbers. Rock Lewis has something to be proud of 600 RAW at 241 lbs. That's impressive.

Well I was there for ed last meet so I'm a little biassed

totally brian siders 2601 pound total

it being one of the highest totals ever
it being in the ipf or usapl
and it being just plain and simply single ply

gives it my vote.
