Any other suggestions for choices?

There is stuff I could put under "Important to PL."

I also think it important for powerlifting to have one city/town to call its home. A place to hold a unity meet each year and on the same date/time of year.

Lift..., what else?

I'll go for that Jim, you can plan your job/schedule around it.

They used to have the National Championships in Dayton every year until someone decided that they should be moved to a different city each year.

As I understand it, the first year was kind of small, but over each susequent year, the competiton got more intense and the crowds grew. Along with attracting some of the greatest names in powerlifting, it was a big party. As I recall, I was told that the event was televised too.

By having 'em in Dayton around the same date each year, people did plan their time off to be able to attend.

It is my hope that Eric Talmant sticks with his plan and moves full steam ahead with not only having it in '08, but each year after. It is a lot of work though! I think Eric is up to it and he knows where to turn for help.

quick question is this a sanctioned meet if not why do we have to qualify?

it also seems that it's gear not for everyone but mostly or only for lifters who are already lifting raw,

this is shaping up to be a unify the raw lifters meet i may be wrong.

i think if your going to have a unity meet invite the top 13 in every weight class raw and geared .

this is just a thought as i down the last of my beer.

I think having a big meet (the Raw Unity Meet) at the same time every year is imperative for its survival.

However, the first one is always the toughest. LOL!

There is a better chance of peace in the Middle East than unified powerlifting!

Jimi Aikey

Jimi Aikey very important to powerlifting. Let's see who's strongest.Put everybody on the same stage and see how it plays out.
