ok what time?

The Kings of the Bench is not unsanctioned. Hardcore Powerlifting, LLC spent over $1,000 in legal fees alone, just for this one event, to make sure that it's fully insured, sanctioned and official. We're sanctioning our own events as The Kings of the Bench and The Clash of the Titans take place at 2 of the largest 4 expo stages in the USA (Super Show Expo and Mr. Olympia Expo) under scrutiny of qualified judges, a live audience of over a thousand and an internet webcast audience of hundreds of thousands. The lifts passed and records broken at these two pro shows are official and legit. This is not up for debate and we will not be taking any questions from the general public on this matter. Thanks.

wow, no respect huh? jon obviously meant no harm...but it must hurt to have paid that sort of money and get a question.

bodybuilding.com, home of free tshirts that festoon every completely clueless wannabe is no place for a real competition to air. why can't you make a deal to air it here on jon's site or put it on youtube or something!

as for how legit the lifts are, we'll see. every PL has a vote on that, based on their own view of how a lift should be done.

You can check out some real cool pre-Olympia Kings of the Bench stuf and get a link to the upcoming webcast here

Bench press super-shirts and lifters wrapped up like mummies to artificially inflate their abilities was not allowed at this royal rumble. The strength showdown was muscle vs. muscle and the seven supermen who picked up the gauntlet were some of the greatest benchers on the planet, leaving no question who's really the strongest in the sport of powerlifting."

so in other words it's unsanctioned just like the original post said.

So, in other words, Mariusz Pudzianowski is now a pop music singer.

What is the name of this new federation? After all, we've seen two (now maybe one or two more one the way) hatched already this year.

Is there a rule book and by-laws that interested candidates can review when deciding to apply for membership?

And if the leader of this new federation isn't amicable to addressing questions from the membership or potential members, just how friendly can it be? I guess communication skills is not a prerequisite for powerlifters, but they would like to get a response when they grunt.

Kudos for addressing the liability concerns! And congratulations on bringing one more sanctioning body into the mix!

Wow, it's statments such as the one above that make me ashamed of ever benching unequipped. Pass me my shirt!
