Which Knee Sleeves Are Allowed In The USAPL?

With the new rule barring knee wraps and allowing knee sleeves in effect in the USAPL for raw divisions, lifters ask for clarification on which sleeves are allowed. Specifically, many want to know if the Inzer knee sleeve can be used.

Ed Kutin:

Will there be a statement or clarification as to what constitutes a legal knee sleeve, or perhaps more importantly, what constitutes an illegal sleeve? For example, are the velcro fasteners such as on the Inzer knee sleeve acceptable?

Regina Hackney:

I am not sure if the INZER knew sleeve is legal or not... I don't know who will have to ok which ones, whether it will be the USAPL or the IPF.

Larry Maile addressed such questions at Men's Nationals in sort of an open forum. Knee sleeves such as the Rehband's will be allowed. He said the velco knee sleeves made out of knee wraps from Inzer would not be allowed. I agree that there needs to be some type of written statement to outline all of this.

Thanks for the info

Why Ed, are you planning on pushing the envelope a little and busting out the Inzer sleeves?

If I decide to compete in some USAPL Raw competitions, which I might, if knee sleeves are allowed, then I would use them (why feel at a disadvantage?). My preference remains nothing on the knees, but at least excluding knee wraps from the USAPL definition of raw is a step forward. As I don't currently own any knee sleeves, I would not want to buy something that couldn't be used for competition. Beyond that, I'm not sure what you're asking.
