FAKE LIFTS get real!!

Bottom line...there is a sufficient market to support any subset of powerlifting in the US. Untested lifting will continue to appeal to a segment of the thousands of lifters in the US and abroad, as will tested lifting, raw lifting, unlimited number of plys, etc. On the other hand, with all of the diversity and the "what's in it for me," attitude, the sport will never transition to the next level in terms of exposure and popularity.

As for me, I'll maintain multiple memberships and lift at meets that are appropriate venues for my family and I to participate.

Sure untested powerlifting have a future but in it's own federation it's fine. They should never get to compete agienst the tested guys It's just that way. It's like Baseball should have there own league that is on roids! Then Barry Bonds would have a really place to compete on equel ground!

Steroids are illegal and to advertise you have juice up lifters is assinine. Then we can go watch them in prisons.

Not proving someone is innocent is not the same as proving they are guilty.

Not everyone in the non-tested feds is on (granted some are).

Have you ever been tested for heroine? If not, by the same logic, then you're a junky.

BTW-I was tested Saturday.

Untested federation is the only honest federation in powerlifting. In tested federation there are about 70-90 % lifters in roids. Yes i know they claim to be drug free but it's a big lie.

some people look at a narrow scope. Powerlifting is not just a U.S. sport. In other countries steroids are not illegal. Therefore untested lifting will always be there. And if someone wants to juice that is there business, the liberal dumbasses on washington need to let people live their lives, instead of trying to regulate everything.

BTW - I am a clean/tested lifter. But that is a personal choice, not one forced on me.

Well I used juice, trained hard with my coach, and my comp lifts in an untested fed earnt me minor stripes. When I look at some of the comp totals for my class in IPF I wouldn't have won even juiced.I wouldn't want to compete under those conditions knowing I'd cheated and not been competitive.

know what you are talking about before you spew something else out of your mouth.

alot of non juiced people lift in non tested feds due to it being more FUN.

nobody cared when i lifted in tested meets and put up big numbers. but, as soon as i put up the same numbers in a non tested meet. i got noticed alot more.

Tested, non-tested, who cares. If an adult want's to compete beyond their genetic disposition then so be it. If someone chooses the natural route, fine by me. Keep in mind also that there are PLENTY of cats out there that are jacked and lift in tested feds and to believer that there aren't is ignorance at it's finest.

Dr. Kristine
I am a physician and life-time drug free figure champion and WNPF powerlifter. I am against dangerous and illegal strength enhancing substances. I will continue to compete in only TESTED meets.

non tested powerlifting has a future. all people care about is who has a bigger bench, if a clean guy benches 700 and a roid head benches 705, hes still stronger. anyways, you still have to lift with roids. you dont take them and get huge by sitting at home. its about how far you wanna go.
BTW- i use steroids

You can be against non-tested meets, but it is silly to think they have no future...it is more likely that tested meets have no future...look at the numbers...more non-tested meets with more lifters. right or wrong it is the future...tested feds are on their way out.

The U.S. needs to legalize anabolics in order to make it safer for everyone concerned. Fewer arrests (obviously) and the ability for doctors to prescribe and monitor correctly, legally, and without fear of any Gestapo-like door breaking/intrusions. Congress needs to keep their pasty white (not a racist comment but more of an accurate assessment based on appearance), non-athletic selves to themselves and not butt into the business of sport.

Otoh, I would love for people to compete without steroids. Strong people will still be strong without the aid of AAS. But all making drugs illegal does is put athletes at greater danger by way of them risking arrest and using drugs without proper medical supervision and instruction. THAT is criminal, not steroids but the current "law."

Very interesting poll result. And pretty representative as well (623 lifters!) I think it reflects more what people wish than what people predict, though.
Some of the comments were more analytical: observations on the actual growth of non-tested participation is objective. Most comments, however, are statements of principles, wishes or decisions.
As I always suspected, testing is not only hypocritical, but a nuisance to most athletes.
Long live diversity: live and let live, there is space for everyone out there.

i am going to compete in my fist non-tested meet, have been drug free for live, its going to feel that much better to win, and show that training hard all the time beats any type of shortcuts out there that people always try to take. Steriods are only a temp. shotcut, you cant stay on them forver.
