RAW United Names 2009 Lifters of the Year

RAW United has named its 2009 Lifters of the Year. They are Eric Talmant, Danny Aguirre and Kathleen Audet.

Eric Talmant was the MSG Gary Gordon Memorial Award recipient.

Danny Aguirre was named the Mike Witmer Memorial Award winner.

Audet, of West Shore High School, was honored with the Rev. Milton Simmons Memorial Award.

To be mentioned in the same sentence as Gary Gordon is an honor and a privilege. For those of you that don't know who he is; please Google and take a few minutes to read about him.

I would like to also mention my friends Mikey Murphy and Danny Dietz who were killed in Opeation Redwing defending our freedom-so that we here at home can do the things we do (powerlifting).

Thanks to Spero for all that he does for not only us powerlifters in Florida and elsewhere; but for our brave servicemen and women in harm's way.

Finally I want to thank my coach Dave Bates for always being there for me. It has been a long time, friend; but we keep putting one foot in front of the other.

I am humbled to receive this award.
