Junior Jorge Pillado Registers Big Total

On Saturday, at the APA Longhorn Open in McAllen, Texas, 22-year-old junior Jorge Pillado (242) registered a 2,130 pound total. The total is good for 21st on the Powerlifting Watch Lifter Rankings. However, if Pillado, who wore single ply gear, had competed in a single ply federation or division, the total would have put him third. It would only leave him ranked behind Mike Mastrean and Tony Harris.

Pillado squatted 820 pounds, benched 560 and deadlifted 750 pounds.

Way to go Jorge!! I knew you would show up on powerliftingwatch one day! What made this even more impressive is that there were only a handful of competitors so he was rushed the whole time. Ill see if i can get Jerry to put up the video asap.

That guy's my spotter. Looks smaller in real life.

Jorge is a monster! He has a lot of potential and time is on his side. Awesome lifts and I'm glad I was there to witness it. I'd also like to add that the 750lb pull was done raw. For anyone looking to challenge the youngster on the platform, his next scheduled comp is the WPA World Championships on April 24th and 25th in Corpus Christi, Texas. Again, great job Jorge!

I got him don't worry!

way to go jorge ! you are gonna blow them away at Worlds ! anyone who looks to challenge you has a lot work to do. kick ass and take names in the gym jorge !
