this meet is going to be insane. making me wait a whole year to see this is torture though

Ed Coan (the greatest ever)....if you are reading this, come out of retirement for this one. We all know at 242 and being closer to 50 than 40 you still pull and squat over 800 RAW just farting around at Quads. Focus on just this pull-meet, pull a nice 850, and let the kids that have never seen you compete watch a living legend do his thing. Nobody expects you to crank out another 901 at 220 (greatest deadlift ever), that is already in the books, they just want to see you on the platform. You can dooooo eeeeet! Think about it Ed....the platform is calling!

I agree it would be good for the sport. Are they using a formula to see who wins? Has this meet been sanctioned yet?

The list of competitors is amazing. I am definitely looking forward to watching this meet. If most of these guys show up, this will be the greatest concentration of 800+ lb deadlifts in the history of the sport.

Most of these guys have competed in strongman events before. I think it would be great to see a competition on the side where they start by deadlifting maybe a volkswagon and work their way up to something like a dump truck.

You will have to wait.

I'm looking forward to seeing Chuck V lift. And if Eddie enters could you imagine the showdown between those two?
So awesome.
Eddie vs Chuck. Let's make it real!

man! chuck could deff pull something amazing out of the bag.850plus. the 820 he did was after heavy ass squats and an injury... and hes done an easy 835 sumo..

guys like kurt kroczaleski should be invited to compete aswell. the guy is a freak and is on his way to a 900 pound pull!

Is he Matt Kroskalezkis brother? Would be cool if they invited Matt too. He has a badass deadlift as well.

What about Kevin Nee? He did 925 (albeit hitched) in training recently.

Kevin Nee won't pull without straps because he teared his biceps twice while training without straps.

Awesome this is going to be what the Sport needs for Powerlifting to be brought out in the main stream! The Deadlift is the hardest to get a lot of carry over with gear so its still the truest test when it comes to gear lifting

I'm sold. Can't wait to go see it with this great of a line up.

While I'll admit the competition is insane, does anyone outside of maybe three guys really have a shot to win? If I remember, the biggest weight wins, not biggest by formula.

true, but having all of these huge lifters share the same platform is going to be a great show regardless of who wins or does not win.

Luke Edwards should be invited. Dude just did 840 at 275.

You should sponsor. We all should. Try to get the prize up even more. So the athletes will get a decent pay.

I love chuck but is he even close to 900?
Martin Wildauer and Mikhail Koklyaev should be invited.

It doesn't matter if they beat Andy Bolton or not because they're all GREAT DEADLIFTERS competing on one platform.

You can still spar with the king and be a king yourself.

This will be one of the most historic events ever.

I second the Martin Wildauer invite. He's very impressive.

I think entrance into the competition should not be by invitation only! They could be setting them self up for failure. Some one said it well earlier, if you send out 10 or 15 invites maybe only half will show (i.e. economic hardship, injury, etc). They should make entrance into the comp based on lifter resume and or a documentable deadlift. Lets invite anybody who is anybody!!! If they have a fathomable shot and want to establish them self as the greatest deadlifter alive, let them. So in the case of individuals like Hossein Rezazadeh, Mariusz Pudzianowski, Kevin Nee, Mark Henry,Alexander Klyushev, Andrey Malanichev, Martin Wildauer and others let them enter. If we want to get real particular just sponsor air fair for the most favored title contenders from over seas.
