Mike Tuchscherer Comments on Arnold Performance

Mike Tuchscherer has posted a meet write-up after his overall victory on Saturday at the NAPF Quest American Invitational at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio.

Tuchscherer is the 22nd ranked powerlifter in the world on the Power Rankings and the sixth ranked raw powerlifter in the world.

On Saturday, he registered a 2,320 pound total.

Tuchscherer on what he learned from the meet: "First, I'm getting much better at competing and competing well. I think I knew what I was capable of. If my goal was simply the biggest total, I would've probably gone 903/606/843/2352, which would be hard to beat. And keep in mind that this was unequivocally an off day for me. So my ability to compete well has improved drastically over the last year. As has my squat depth."

Going forward, he says that the "meet is just another notch in the belt. It's time to take these lessons and move forward. I'm finding that, while training is still huge, I need to get some basics addressed as well (nutrition, sleep, consistency). The next stop on this Crazy-Train is Men's Nationals this June. I've been on the cusp of something huge for a while and I really feel like it's right there. I think as long as I put these lessons into practice, I should be able to put a show-stopper together next time."
