Phillip Daniels Re-Signs with Washington Redskins

Phillip Daniels, full time NFL Washington Redskins Defensive End and off season AAPF Powerlifter, was offered and signed a two year contract to continue on with the Washington Redskins, provide leadership and model his intense work ethic as player and administrative changes take place on the Redskins during this off season.

It is Daniels off season training which has allowed him to play longer than the average NFL career of 3.5 years. This will be Daniels 15th season in the NFL Daniels and attributes his longevity in a large part to his off season powerlifting routine.

Daniels was first exposed to powerlifting when playing with the Seattle Seahawks as Louie Simmons worked with that team on the Westside Method. Daniels now trains at the Monster Garage Gym, a powerlifting gym he co-owns with 2-Time WPC World Powerlifting Champion, Eric Maroscher.

"Training with a variations of accommodating resistance keeps my CNS from shutting down during the long season and keeps me fast and strong."

At 6'6", 300LBS and 12% body fat, Daniels has a 722 LB single ply squat and 633 LB deadlift in competition to his credit.

Phillip is a former Bulldog and we are proud of him

Good to see that these "ancient" lifts still are the best for sports. All these players are foucused on their core and speed all that fancy training they forget the basics are still the best. Now that John Gamble is the strength coach of the Bills maybe they will start running over people instead of leading the the league in injured reserved 2 out of the last 3 years.
