Roy Bradshaw Breaks 900 Lb BP Barrier

Roy Bradshaw (shw) became only the fourteenth bencher in powerlifting history to surpass the 900 pound bench press barrier when he pressed 903 pounds yesterday at the SPF Sacramento Bench Press Challenge in Sacramento, California. The press puts Bradshaw second on the Powerlifting Watch Lifter Rankings and eleventh all-time.

Way to go big Roy! Congrats!!!

Awesome lifting big Roy! Next up, 1000!

You could have repped that. Looked too easy. Set your sights above the World Record and you'll own all the records. Great Job.

Very nice. That was very fast for 900lbs. Definitely think you can still get alot more.

Congrats Roy!

I hope my question isn't considered an attack on Roy. I am just wondering if Roy is medically unable to lock his elbows out at the finish because that's what it looks like. Other than that it looks like one heckuva bench with an enourmous amount of weight. Congrats big guy!

Wow, that sprung off his chest quick! That's got to be one of the biggest ever using a closed-back shirt too. Maybe he'd have the potential to do even more in an open-back shirt? Huge congrats and surely even bigger numbers to come in the future!!

Yes. He has less than the full range of motion in one elbow.

Roy you are the first one to hit a 900+ Bench in the SPF. Congrats on the huge lift and hope to see you move it even higher. Keep it coming.

Roy is obviously a massive, strong and dedicated individual but come on..that was not a good lift, its racked for him when the bar is clearly at the least 2 inches are so below even the bench racks/hooks. This is in no way a attack, just a observation

Does anyone know what the world record in a closed-neck bemch shirt is? It seems like this is pretty close.

Wow very strong lift one of the fastest I have ever seen. This is not meant to discourage the lift at all, I think Mr. Bradshaw has the smallest stroke I have ever seen in competitive lifting. Its just a fact, he has the perfect build and body mechanics for lifting in a shirt. Plus I am sure tons of dedication and hard work.

Best part is (I think it's Bell) yelling out before hand "easy weight". Haha.

Doesn't look like lock out is a problem with lighter weights? Full range appears to be there when the weight is lighter?

Sorry for the question it was not a single ply bench. If you pause the video at 102 you can see the grid stitch on his shirts chest panel, probably double or trip ply shirt. nice bench anyway
