Submitted by Staff on February 9, 2010 - 9:30am.
The Phoenix Assembly of God Church in Phoenix, Arizona was packed with hundreds of people on Friday, February 5th, for the funeral service of legendary bencher Tom Manno. Scores or powerlifters were in attendance.
The WABDL is coordinating a fundraiser raffle and wristband sales to raise money for the Manno Family to help cover funeral, medical, and living expenses.
They are selling red/white/blue wristbands with "In Memory of Tom Manno" debossed on them. Wristbands are available for purchase here and will also be available at upcoming WABDL meets.
For the raffle, they are selling tickets to win a prize package to the WABDL 2010 Worlds Competition in Las Vegas November 16-21, 2010, which includes a 3-night stay at the Las Vegas Hilton, entry fee, membership card and program. Tickets will be sold through August 2010 with the drawing to be held on September 10, 2010. Tickets prices are $5 per ticket or 5 tickets for $20. Tickets are available for sale here and will also be available at upcoming WABDL meets.
