April Mathis Turns in Historic Performance at Southern States

April Mathis (shw) recorded the biggest women's raw total in powerlifting history on Saturday at the APF Southern States in Jacksonville, Florida. Mathis totaled 1,405 pounds to surpass the previous record of 1,300 pounds held by Jill Mills.
The total ranks Mathis second in the world to Stella Krupinski on the Powerlifting Watch Power Rankings and first on the Lifter Rankings. Mathis also holds the second largest raw bench press of all-time, at 370 pounds.
Mathis, who weighed in at 255 pounds, squatted 523 pounds, benched 363 and deadlifted 518 pounds. She went seven for nine, missing a third attempt bench press of 374 pounds and deadlift of 551 pounds.
