Mike Womack 1st to Bench 800 in AAU

The top ranked bench presser in the world on the Power Rankings, Mike Womack (shw), became the first person to ever break the 800 pound barrier in the AAU when he pressed 804 pounds on Sunday at the federation's Bench Press, Deadlift and Push-Pull World Championships in Laughlin, Nevada. The previous highest bench press in the federation was 733 pounds.

Womack's press was an AAU Open Record.

Womack also hit his 705 pound opener. He did not take a third attempt.

Keep in mind that Mike is doing this with a single ply not a multi ply. And unlike some lifters is drug free. So pound for pound he has got to be one of the greatest lifters out there. And he is a down to earth person Good job Mike. And good job AAU for keeping the sport drug free.

It was a pleasure to see Mike again. He is not only a great bencher, but a wonderful man. Mike too a conservative 705 opener, went 804 and called it a day, as he had his uhaul packed to move to Texas. Mike brought a bench with safety rails. They saved a lifter. I will be buying a few pairs from Mike's dad. WOW are they great. We had many terrific lifts thos weekend which we will post about.

It was incredible and he still had some more left. good thing he is so strong - they made him hold it at the end for a little bit.

To the guy who want,s to know about double ply. If you'r lookng for a fed to lift in that is drug tested and has double ply look into WABDL.
