Mark Felix Makes Powerlifting Debut

World's Strongest Man competitor Mark Felix made his powerlifting debut today at the GBPF North West Powerlifting Championships in Colne, Lancashire, England.

Felix (shw) deadlifted 881 pounds (400kg) to break Arthur White's bigger ever federation deadlift of 837 pounds (380kg).

Felix went nine for nine on the day to total 1,989 pounds (902.5kg). He added a 705 pound (320kg) squat and 402 pound (182.5kg) bench press.

Nice Pull Felix, way to keep your back flat. Are you going to keep doing strongman or are you done with that?

Made it look easy. wow! The deadlift has always been one of his specialties. I remember seeing a video of him deadlifting 4xx lbs one handed. Mind blowing.

oh thats what the ref was saying, maby its only the gbpf that banned the 50kgs plates?
any one of the best drug free deadlifters ever imho! he can go 420kgs

I had the pleasure of being a few feet away from this lift and it was as smooth and easy looking in the flesh as on vid. All Mark's lifts were conservative. I hate to think what the guy can total when he really goes for it. The 2010 British Champs should be a great event. Felix vs reigning IPF Superheavyweight World Champion Dean Bowring...

The GBPF uses IPF rules - 50kg disks are fine

he could of done more, iv never seen felix struggle on his last deadlift attemps on videos, he seems to play it safe or hes that good he makes it look easy, would love to see him push himself more on deadlifts on a weight thats going to challenge him like 930lbs something along that.

I find it hard to believe that his BP was only 402 when this is a man who presses a 280# log OH 4 mutiple reps and he can do the same with the 300# axel clean & press but reguardless that's some awesome shit he put out.

I am not at all supprised that his pull was a huge as it was. He has more than enough power to go over 900.
