Great job to all!
But damn you guys sure have a ton of div.!!!!!
What is elite vs open is it done by pounds ,cause it seems that there might only be 1 or maybe 2 tops in this div.
Anyways some wicked benching!!!!!

There was some awesome Dead Lifting done @ the WABDL Worlds 2009. Who took the team title??? Texas????

"There is no point in being alive if you cannot do the DeadLift." Jon Pall Sigmarsson...(CONVENTIONAL THAT IS). OLD SCHOOL. There are two types of lifters, those that wish they could DeadLift and those that, Do It....

Cheryl Anderson just has an amazing DL! Wow!

The WABDL Worlds is a good indicator of just how difficult it is to deadlift 800 pounds while being prepared to pass a drug test. Out of all those lifters, it looks like there were only two low 800s pulls (and no one had to squat prior to pulling.)

Congrats to all the competitors,

And just over a half dozen 700+ pound lifts which are big accomplishments too!

How many non-americans competed in this worlds?

There were lifters from Finland, France, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, India & Congo, Mr. anonymous hater. Were you there?

I was there Roger. In the Open Mens benchpress there were a total of 56 U.S. lifters and a total of 5 lifters that were from Finland. THATS IT!

Anonymous or not. there were 2 countrys in the open benchpress. So if someone tells you what there name is, that is going to change that fact?NO.

Trey Jewett 662.3@198 bench press! Holy shit!

Anyone wanting to see a good website layout for record keeping should go to the WABDL website.
Broken down nicely with stats not all lumped together ,and with clean (readable) names and numbers.
Anyone who is going to have that many Div. needs to look at this site as a template.

It is interesting when someone puts up a post about how many (few) non-Americans attended this World meet or any other World meets. First, we should be happy when World meets are in our backyard. Second, if you what to compete against lifters from other counties, do what they have to do by jumping on a plane, flying to their backyards, deal with different foods, customs, and unfamiliar roads and streets, while hoping to make a weight class and not get hurt lifting. I have great respect for any lifter who flew to our country this year to compete in any of the Worlds that were held on our soil.

Maybe thats true I don't know but it was more than just an open event and Ryano is 100% correct. The open was on Saturday. The event started monday and ended on sunday.Another thing the open is supposed to be the most prestigious right(next to the elite). but there are some world records such as the junior men 132lb rec. that is bigger than the current open world rec.

He missed it on his first two attempts and nailed it on the third, I was surprised to see he used a loose single-ply regular Katana instead of the super K.But then again nothing this young kid does surprises me..
