IDFPA to File Complaint Regarding WDFPF Worlds

IDFPA President Tom Coyle has announced that he will file a complaint with the WDFPF and BDFPA regarding the choice by World meet directors Neil Abery and Rick Meldon to not hand out medals at the event and their subsequent handling of some lifter's reactions to that decision.

Coyle: "In general this tournament was very good but certain issues arose towards the end which are not acceptable. The IDFPA are submiting an official complaint to the BDFPA and the WDFPF with an understanding the the issues raised will be investigated by the Discipline Committee. This complaint is presently being circulated to the IDFPA executive for their approval."

However, Meldon says that the WDFPF Executive Committee knew of their plans in advance of the meet. Meldon: "WDFPF event is put in, a draft of all awards and to whom they will be awarded should be submitted at the same time, if the WDFPF exec feel it is not good enough then the bid is not accepted. At all times during our proccess the WDFPF knew what our award structure was and were happy with it, which is why we never even thought it would cause this much trouble."

Executive Committee members were Wim Backelant, Judy Gedney, George Troullis and Anita Mahony, before she resigned due to this issue.

Good on you for stepping in on behalf of your lifters.....

Now with more " shut up and lift"

When Trophy Hunters Attack! Coming soon to a theatre near you.

Its not a matter of being a trophy hunter. You lift all year long and if you are one of the few to make it to Worlds and are in the top three yes you do expect a trophy. To me it shows just how ungreatfull that fed is twords its membership.I for one am glad i dont lift for this fed.

IDFPAWDFPF......that is a lot of letters!

What doesn't someone just post the entry form from the contest?
That would pretty much settle who is right.

Why don't you moaning lot of tossers just get over it? No one lifted less or wasn't reccognised cos they didn't get a medal
